Introduction
There are two types of Product Catalogues used for the QuoteCloud Telco Plugin. These are for Mobile Devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, etc., and Business Phone Systems (however, in reality, the latter can be used for any type of product, not just phone systems).
In this topic, we will cover how to manage your Mobile Devices Product Catalogue.
Before you start adding products to your Mobile Device Product Catalogue, please ensure you have the Telco Plugin activated. To learn how, please read the How to Activate the Telco Plugin user guide topic.
Click on the Content Libraries Menu and select the Devices option.
You will now see a list of existing Products in your QuoteCloud account (there may be no list of existing products if you are starting your setup).
If you have lots of products already set up, you can reduce the number of products in the list using the Filter feature. When you click this button, you will notice a row of input fields appear below the column labels (as shown below). Type into one or more of these filter fields to reduce the number of products displayed.
You may also want to adjust the columns in the view. You can add or hide columns using the Visible Columns button.Â
The dropdown on the left of the Visible Columns button will allow you to adjust the number of products listed per page. You can view a maximum of 100 products per page.Â
To create a new Device Product, click on the New Item button (bottom left of the page).
Click on the Device tab and fill in the required data for your new plan; the following is the explanation of each data item:
Folder (Required data field): This dropdown field will make you place your new plan into a folder category; you can create a new folder by clicking New Folder (bottom left of the screen). It is important to organise your data well, especially if you are going to create many plans. Think about how your data should be organised for the user. For example, if you sell lots of mobile phones, business phone systems, insurance, etc.
Subfolder (optional data field): If there is a need to categorize further your plans, you can optionally create a subfolder
Device Name (required data field): The device name is the name that appears to the sales consultant when they need to choose a device to sell (when creating a sales quote in the Sales Quote Editor, or when the administrator is allocating a device to a phone plan). Try to keep this name short and quickly informative to the Sales Consultant. Avoid long, cryptic, or difficult-to-understand language here, as well may make it difficult for the Sales Consultant when creating sales quotes
Sales Quote Line Item Description (required data field): This is an essential data item; the text will appear on the sales quote line item. Make this user-friendly and accurate as it will appear on your quotes to customers and needs to be clear to a customer which product they are buying
Notes (optional data item): Record important information about this device in this field; this information will appear under the price row line item (as shown below). The typical use of this Notes field is to put the best-selling features of the device
Thumbnail (optional data item): You can upload an image file here (in JPG, GIF, or PNG formats); these images will be automatically added to all sales quotes that use this product
After you have completed all the information in the Device tab, click on the Device SKUs tab to add the available variants that can be sold for this Device, i.e. colour and size combinations.
After selecting the Device SKUs tab, you can now create all the SKUs for this product. SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) are the variants of each product. For example, the iPhone XR is available in 6 different colours: Red, Coral, Yellow, Blue, Black, and White; and 3 storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB - each combination of these is a SKU, and you may have a different price set per SKU.
Click on the New button to add a SKU.
Type the information required as follows:
SKUÂ (required data item):Â Type the unique identifier (code) for this SKU
Colour (required data item): Type the colour of the SKU
Size (required data item): Type the storage capacity of the SKU
Price (required data item): Type the price of this SKU. Please note: this price is the Unit's Total Cost. When a Sales Consultant uses this SKU in a Sales Quote, this price will be divided by the number of months in the Service Plan term. E.g. if the unit costs $1200, and the Service Plan is for 24 months, then the monthly repayment will be $50.
If you need to add another SKU, click on the New button again and repeat the process.
After all SKUs have been created, click Save Changes.
